Germany is special place for Kim Soo Hyun in shooting Queen Of Tears, he mentioned it many times. Many important scenes are taken place in Germany, we even heard Kim Soo Hyun speak long dialogue in English in ep 6 (something we seldom see and he speak it very well) There are also scenes contain variety emotions in Germany - from honeymoon, lovey dovey scenes to the car accident heavy emotion scene.
